This course will cover and complete workings of a fire pump by learning how to efficiently, effectively and safely operate and maintain your apparatus fire pumps. Topics are logically organized, beginning with an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the driver and operator, then stepping through the construction of pumps and operational procedures and progressing to the theory and principles behind water flow, and other topics that promote the safe and efficient operation of pumps.
The Mobile Structural Fire Attack Lab (MSFAL) features three live-fire training props, as well as a roof ventilation simulator. The unit supports a number of training scenarios including structural and transitional fire attack, vent-enter-search, basement fires, industrial fires, rescue, and ventilation from ground ladders and aerial devices. This unit meets training demands for all department sizes.
