Capt. William Montrie

Bill Montrie has over 40 years in the fire service. He served with Perrysburg Township Fire until 1995 and held the rank of 2nd Assistant Chief -Training Officer. He eventually retired from Springfield Township Fire in 2019, as Captain. Bill was also a Program Coordinator-Department Chair for the EMS and Fire Science program at Owens Community College and was instrumental in obtaining the State of Ohio certification programs for EMT and Paramedic. He also serves as an instructor for the Ohio Fire Academy CART program for Grain rescue.
He continues to work with a group of other talented experts in the field of grain emergencies on a response team that has been involved in several local incidents. Bill continues to serve with Promedica Maumee Freestanding ER Paramedic Division and Metamor-Amboy VFD.
Their class focuses on the instruction and strategies for first responders who respond to agricultural incidents. In addition, their two classes will focus on emergency response plans involving the flowing or entrapment of grain and agricultural accidents.
Please dress appropriately for hands-on activities which will be outside for the afternoon portion of the class.
